FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW CAN I BOOK MY EVENT?

Get in touch via email at bakeologycakes@outlook.com or using the form on the contact page. I ask for bookings to be made atleast 1 month in advance for wedding orders & 2 weeks in advance for all other bookings (as a minimum). All bookings are subject to availability & I strongly suggest booking as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

I require the date, venue, required number of servings, design ideas or images of cakes you like for inspiration. Please note I will not replicate my own cakes or another cake decorators work, but can definitely use the images as inspiration for your unique cake. Once I have this information I can provide you with a personalised quote.

To secure your booking I require a 50% non-refundable deposit to be paid within 7 days of receiving your invoice, and the remainder of the balance must be paid by 2 weeks prior to your event.

HOW MUCH DO YOU CHARGE FOR "...."?

All orders are customised so there is no set price list. All prices are based on size, complexity of decoration & extras (flowers, macarons, cake toppers, etc). Contact Bakeology Cakes via the contact form or by email for a personalised quote or more information on pricing.

CAN THE FLORIST DECORATE THE CAKE?

For insurance & food regulatory purposes only Bakeology Cakes may decorate the cakes or cupcakes with fresh floral decorations. I work very closely with a number of local florists & am more than happy to liaise with your florist for your event to ensure colours & varieties are consistent.

WHAT FLAVOURS ARE AVAILABLE?

So many flavours!! If you are interested in making an order and would like to see our cake & cupcake flavour list send an enquiry or an email & I am more than happy to send you the list. If there is a specific flavour you have in mind that is not there let me know, I am always open to researching new flavours!

DO YOU OFFER CAKE TASTINGS?

Yes, I offer multiple wedding cake samples throughout the year. See Bakeology Weddings for more information.

DO YOU HAVE GLUTEN FREE/VEGAN OPTIONS?

Yes, I offer a range of gluten free and vegan flavour options. The items are prepared in the same kitchen in which gluten, dairy & nut products are present. Additional time taken to decontaminate the cooking area & costs of specialty ingredients result in an increased fee for allergen-friendly cakes & desserts.

DO YOU DELIVER?

Yes, delivery is available when organised & paid for in advance. Delivery is a requirement for all cake orders greater than two-tiers or wedding cakes to ensure the cake arrives at it's destination safely. Delivery costs are determined on a basis of distance from Bakeology Cakes.

CAN I PICK UP MY CAKE?

Yes, orders can be picked up at a pre-arranged time. You will be allocated a 30 minute window which best suits both parties for the order to be collected. If you miss this window, I cannot guarantee my availability & you may need to contact me to organise another collection time or delivery at your cost. If you choose to collect your order, Bakeology Cakes is not responsible for any damage to your cake after the cake has left the property.

HOW DO I TRANSPORT & STORE MY CAKE OR CUPCAKES?

Cakes are best transported with air-conditioning on in the car & on the floor of the passenger seat, in the car boot (in a clear area), or on the back seat (levelled to ensure flat surface).

Cupcakes, donuts & cakes do not need to be refrigerated unless there is greater than 2 hours until the event in which case I would recommend finding a space in your fridge. Following the event, neither cakes or cupcakes require refrigeration and can last for up to an additional 6 working days sealed in an airtight container.

WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL/CHANGE MY ORDER?

In the event of cancelation of your booking following deposit payment, the 50% non-refundable deposit will not be refunded to you, and instead will go towards any administrational or supplier costs related to your order.

Orders cancelled within the two weeks prior to your event will incur a penalty equal to the full balance of your order.

Changes to your order made prior to two weeks before your event are possible, but may incur changes in costs which become immediately payable.
